 For me, when a recording starts, everything works OK for 30s, then no more
 data is coming from the server (a tcpdump shows that). The file size is
 growing until it reached ~7.5 MB

 I used tcpdump with vlc, and it regularly sends these kind of packets to
 the server :

 it looks like mythtv does not send these kind of keep alive packets, no (i
 see nothing with tcpdump, only the udp packets from the server during the
 first 30sec)  ? (i'm not familiar with RTP/RTSP ...)
