 Here is what I've observed, it may help solve this issue:

 The behaviour is independent of the painter used. I've tested it with Qt,
 OpenGL1 and OpenGL2 with the same results, using the Steppes theme.

 In MythVideo, I have Folders like Series-->SeriesName--> SeriesName
 S01E01.mkv, SeriesName S01E02.mkv, etc

                   |                    | and reentering same series folder
 | menu and reentering   |

 "I" menu offers to|  Mark as Watched   | Mark as Watched
