 Compiled the source for a minimal distro called Tinycorelinux

 Compiled ok
 mythtv-setup seems ok

 but when I tried to run mythfrontend, it says Could not connect to the
 master backend server.  Is it running?  Is the IP address set for it in
 mythtv-setup correct?

 I can see the mythbackend process running.

 Attached is the debug log, there is an backend MainServer initialization
 error and some http proxy error.
