Comment:

 Do you actually have device nodes showing up in /dev/dvb/adapter<n>?[[br]]
 Does the user you are running mythtv-setup as, as well as the user that
 will be running mythbackend, have read and write permissions to those
 nodes?[[br]]
 We need logs from mythtv-setup.
