#10966: UX: Previous Channel Button in Live TV
-----------------------------------+--------------------------------------
Reporter: skd5aner <skd5aner@…> | Type: Bug Report - General
Status: new | Priority: minor
Milestone: unknown | Component: MythTV - General
Version: 0.25-fixes | Severity: medium
Keywords: UX, previous channel | Ticket locked: 0
-----------------------------------+--------------------------------------
The previous channel button in Live TV doesn't look at the actual last
channel that a user may have watched, only the last channel on the current
video source.
For example.
Tuner 1 - Can tune channels 2-99
Tuner 2 - Can tune channels 2-1000
If you start live TV on Tuner 1, and you are on channel 2, and then you
manually tune to channel 1000 which leverages tuner 2. After you land on
tune 2, the previous channel button will leverage whatever the last
channel was that tuner 2 was tuned to, not channel 2 which was the last
channel the user actually watched.
Proper UX (and every other TV & STB in the world) would say that the
previous channel should always be whatever the last channel the user was
watching regardless of which tuner the backend was/is leveraging. This
should be transparent to the user.
