Comment:

 I don't think this will be accepted unless it will compile also for non-
 Gentoo systems.  Until Gentoo fixes their customizations to work properly,
 you may be out of luck, or need to keep a custom local patch.

 As this will not build on my setup (Ubuntu-based) and Ubuntu is one of our
 most popular platforms...  Sorry, no can do.
