Comment:

 Currently MythTV playback assumes a fixed frame rate for the purpose of
 seeking, displaying position, and in some cases displaying duration.
 There is work in progress that will allow for proper display and seeking
 in variable frame rate recordings.

 The judder is a separate issue.  It would help a lot if you could provide
 a link to a small sample that demonstrates the problem.  It's likely
 related to the ffmpeg code, and a resync has happened for 0.26 that could
 possibly have fixed it.
