 Just happened to be watching on the console when this was displayed at the
 same time my backend died:

 mythbackend: mpeg2.c:113: mpeg2_recv_handler: Assertion `mpeg != ((void
 *)0)' failed.
 }}}
 I can confirm that this happened at the same time there were some major
 quality problems with the channel, so there was likely a lot of
 corruption.

 Neither that file nor the error message seem to exist in my code (can't
 find the file anywhere).

 Another oddity: Google search results turn up the same error in a file
 attached to very-old #4472

 Also, this crash happens when trying to record/watch via my HDHR as well
 as Firewire.
