 commercial flagging stops the deadlocks) and my deadlock is occurring with
 no active EITScanner thread although I do use EIT.

 To clarify, nongolfer is seeing the commercial flagging issue. Some of
 Brian's backtraces have the doFlagCommercials thread and some don't. So
 perhaps there are two bugs (or more) bugs here with similar symptoms.

 Brian, have you tried disabling commercial flagging?
