 Mythtv was about a month or so out of date, database version 1278.
 Upgraded to trunk and ended up with:
 http://pastebin.com/uaxts0jx

 when starting mythbackend with -v all, going back to commit
 1c2b33e696dbf96ceb2e fixed the issue.
