 Update on this item: It appears that the phenomena might be window-focus
 related.  When starting playback of a recording that is currently
 recording via 'Live Tv' and the fullscreen playback UI is initially non-
 responsive, switching to another window and then back to Mythfrontend
 restores the functionality of the playback controls.

 Attached is mythfrontend output with -v general,osd,playback

 This appears to be reproducible with metacity, compiz, and netbook-
 launcher-efl.
