 No, I haven't tried the open source driver yet, because I'm in the process
 of upgrading my distribution which will probably be somewhat complicated.
 I expect the upgrade process to take about a week as I sort through the
 various issues. In the meantime, ATI will likely release a new binary
 driver as well. However, before I upgrade to the newer ATI driver, I'll
 try the open source version as development has been progressing nicely.

 I'd like to keep this bug open for about a week as I sort through the
 issues. I'll keep you in the loop.

 Lastly, thanks for the information on the de-interlacing issue with ATI's
 driver.
