 When 5.1 sound is selected in Setup>General Settings, the OS X frontend
 sees the AC3 audio rapidly switch back and forth between stereo or mono
 and 6 channels (sometimes many times per frame) generating loud static:

 This behavior is observed when playing back any recording from any
 channel, as well as DVD and Blu-ray rips via MythVideo.
