 The attached patch,
 mythtv-8101-change_always_stream_to_stream_from_local_backends.patch ,
 changes the "Always stream recordings from the backend" setting to do what
 Stuart M wants it to do (and changes its related help text to reflect the
 change in purpose).  I've done only basic testing of the patch and
 verified that on a single system with a combined backend and frontend, it
 does as he wants.  I don't know if the change would have any adverse
 effects on other configurations.
