Comment:

 I've added the version of the patch I've been testing here. Currently this
 just uses the existing, shared memory approach but when finished will
 fallback to xvideo without shared memory (I'm uncomfortable with the
 changes to myhxdisplay).

 Unfortunaly if I force the non-shm approach in the contructor, then it
 crashes. Not had a chance to dig into it but it looks like an
 alignment/buffer size problem. If you can test, that would be much
 appreciated.
