 This patch has worked flawlessly for the original problem for this ticket,
 and thus can and should be included for release (as the original reporter,
 I can say definitely the problem that happened before, is no longer
 occurring with this patch). For my setup with a Motorola cable box, it
 reliably works and has never required a reset of mythbackend to re-
 establish firewire channel changing and recording. Some channels do not
 consistently work, but this seems to be a result of the particular cable
 provider, as if no lock is acquired, it usually has the same issue from
 other programs and even testing with other computers.

 The problems mentioned in previous comments do not indicate they are a
 result of a failed reset because of "LAVCInfo(), Error: Unable to get
 handle for port: -1" This is the only problem this patch was designed to
 address and it does so successfully, other issues related to firewire
 capture should probably be filled as separate bug reports so they don't
 hold up this fix.
