 The timestretched, stereo AC-3 'issue' is intended behaviour on the basis
 that there's no point reencoding stereo material. You should have a valid
 default device defined (even if it's the the same as the passthru device).
 I might change this.

 I've never experienced any clipping - could you provide a sample and some
 logs?
