 FWIW, I'm pretty certain that /all/ channels marked as not visible are
 intentionally ignored by the scheduler for /all/ recordings/recording
 types.  See the last paragraph of Bruce Markey's post at http://www
 .gossamer-threads.com/lists/mythtv/users/269164#269164 :

 "If for some reason you still receive channels that you don't want to use,
 you can mark them as not visible and the scheduler, searches, EPG will
 ignore them."

 Perhaps a better fix is to modify the "Visible" setting's help text to
 indicate that the channels will not be used for any recordings?  And, with
 the recent addition of the new multiple-favorites channel groups, I would
 argue that the visible flag should not be used to hide a channel that the
 user intends to use--regardless of how infrequently it will be used.
