 Attempting to play back any in-progress recording will cause the player to
 fail out to the menu at the exact timestamp being recorded at the time
 playback was started.  Example:

 Attempt to play back an hourlong recording fifteen minutes into the
 recording.  Playback will fail silently back to the menu at 15 minutes in
 (even though there are now 30 minutes of recording).

 You can check how soon the failure point will be by switching to edit
 mode, which is also "stuck" with an editable amount equal to the time
 recorded at the time of playback.  Example:

 Attempt to play an hourlong recording fifteen minutes into the recording.
 Wait ten minutes and then switch to edit mode.  You will see the position
 indicator at ten of fifteen minutes.  Unpause and wait three minutes.
 13:00/15:00.  Wait a minute fourty-five.  14:45/15:00.  No matter what
 happens or how long you wait, it will fail at the fifteen minute mark.
