 To attain higher picture quality, I disable any recording filters and
 record stuff as it comes, and I also disable any playback filters.  Now my
 monitor is a little on the dark side, and the gamma controls of the X
 server do nothing on this particular video card.   Playback XV controls
 like Brightness or Contrast make the picture look burnt, so:

 I can haz playback gamma control nao plz kthxbye ;-)

 Honest, guys, it'd be great if we had gamma on MythTV.  Every decent video
 player has it (kaffeine, vlc, etcetera).
