 To get nice URLs like http://wiki.mythtv.org/Main_Page it just needs:

 1) "DirectoryIndex index.php" in the apache config
 2) swap the mount at "www.mythtv.org/wiki" with the redirect at
 "wiki.mythtv.org"
 3) somehow tell mediawiki about the nice URLs
 4) add a redirect from wiki.mythtv.org/index.php* to /

 result is nice short URLS while all old bookmarks and links still work and
 take you to the new location

 (filed under documentation as wiki, website or infrastructure are not
 available)
