 Ever since the switch to qt4 myth frontend no longer displays osd alerts
 of any type issued from mythtvosd.
 I have used a packet sniffer and the packet is arriving at the frontend
 machine.
 The frontend is listening on udp port 6948 but nothing is ever displayed.
 I turned up logging on both the backend and frontend to all but nothing
 related to the problem shows up.
