 I have a remote frontend which has nfs access to my recording directory
 but doesn't have write permission.  If I go to the "Watch Recordings"
 screen and select a recording which has no preview image (usually an in-
 process recording), the frontend will either hang or crash.

 The attached patch adds a check to the preview generation process to
 ensure the target directory is writable.  This fixed the problem for me.
