 i have the same issue r12376, r12172 and r13181 ...i did some tests:
 issue is not related to dvb, happens also with ivtv, and iptv (vlc
 stream).
 On my system (separate backend and frontend) freezes randomly 1 out of 6
 program transitions.
 if i pause playback for few seconds to be behind livetv..it doesnt freeze
 that often..at least for 16 consecutive hours and then froze again(thats
 the test i did)
 i tried 3 different backend-frontend HW configurations including gigabit
 ethernet+network but the freezing keeps happening.
 i tried r10505 and doesnt happen..but of course...i know thats usseless
 because its too old stuff.
 hope it helps..sorry for my english..:(
