 Paul Harrison did some work on aspect ratios for mytharchive, that's if I
 remember correctly? There is a "helper" for mytharchive, and I think it
 may be possible to use it to detect the aspect ratio. Forgive me if I am
 wrong, but it might be worth dropping him a quick  line to enquire?
