#2625: DPMS Not functioning correctly after upgrade to xorg-x11 7.1
-----------------------+----------------------------------------------------
 Reporter: anonymous | Owner: ijr
     Type: defect | Status: new
 Priority: minor | Milestone: unknown
Component: mythtv | Version: 0.20
 Severity: medium |

I am running a Gentoo box currently with 2.6.18-r1 kernel on two Pentium4
systems with NVidia video cards. This same issue is present on both
machines. I am using nvidia-drivers (latest version). DPMS was working
perfectly until I upgraded to xorg-x11 7.1. I have have tracked the
status of dpms thru use of 'xset -q' and it inicates DPMS is enabled when
appropriate, and disabled when appropriate. When I bring the machine up
without Mythfrontend running, DPMS engages automatically and works
repeatedly as expected. After I bring Mythfrontend up and view live tv or
a recording, then exiting, DPMS is disabled and re-enabled appropriately
according to 'xset -q', however the monitor never turns off. I can type
'xset dpms force off', and the monitor immediately shuts off, or I can
reset the dpms settings by 'xset dpms 0 0 600', and DPMS again works
normally, shutting monitor off after 10 minutes. It appears that when
Mythfrontend is bringing DPMS back to an active mode, it is either failing
to restart a clock, or the settings are corrupted (non-visibly).
