Comment:

 this should work in the latest svn ..is that what you are using ?
 If not, upgrade and test again.

 if the problem persists, after the upgrade, for the da vinci code, which i
 will borrow shortly, send me the -v playback.. skip to the section where
 the subtitles should show, then exit the dvd. This way I can see from the
 debugs which part and title contains the subtitle track change.
