 Apologies if I misdirected the ticket - I'm not sure who's the GoToDev for
 the contrib directory?
 I've rewritten some old code for the Red-Eye Serial that's in common use I
 believe for managing UK STBs.
 Feel free to accept/reject, I've not submitted much so let me know if
 there's anything missing that you need?
