 I noticed this most when running without acceleration, but it happens on
 my accelerated box, too.

 Basically, go from one menu into another, and then quickly into a third
 that doesn't use GL (eg. main -> library -> recordings).  Then back out of
 the third, and you'll see the second menu continue/finish its transition
 from the first (which obviously was not the last thing visited).
