No longer specify the cookie domain -- according to php docs, the cookie spec says that blank domains should set the cookie to the originating server.  This should solve a lot of cookie-related problems.  Thanks to Stuart Morgan <stuart(a)tase()co()uk> for setting me straight on this one.  I've also set the cookie timeout down to 30 days, to match the session timeout.
