#2138: Potential for incorrect error message if a Watch Recordings view filter
contains zero entries

This issue has become more apparent since the new LiveTV functionality and
the ability to filter between regular and LiveTV recordings. I believe it
could also cause some confusion amongst users. I assign this to cpinkham
as I am not sure whose remit this falls under, and recording groups seems
more specific than MythUI.
Running SVN10424, if I enter the Watch Recordings list, and then filter
the view to show only LiveTV recordings, I can readily delete them after
watching/reviewing them. However, when I delete the last LiveTV recording,
Watch Recordings displays the message "You Haven't Scheduled Any
Recordings" which is not true at all. If I then switch the filter back to
the default view, all regular recordings reappear as normal.
Would it not make sense to update the message in this scenario to
something more useful like "No recordings were found with the current
filter. Please choose a different filter" if the current filter is
obscuring other available recordings?
I guess this needs to be checked against the other possible usages of the
view filter feature to make it clear whether i) the filter returned an
empty set of recordings; ii) there are no recordings on the system but
rules exist; and iii) there are neither recordings nor rules on the
system.
Thanks,
Nick
