 anon, can you give this latest code a try?

 You may need to tweak some values.
   1/ The TFW_BLK_WRITE_SIZE. See line 26 of ThreadedFileWriter.cpp
   2/ The TWF buffer size. See line 774 of tv_rec.cpp

 Try increasing the first until you don't get back to back blocking events.
 Try increasing the second until the blocking events become infrequent.

 The values I picked may work, but they are just educated guesses, actual
 values from a malfunctioning system would probably work better.
