 I also added a couple SATA drives. I'm not actually using them yet so I
 didn't think it was relevant, but there is a message in the mythtv-users
 list "HDTV digital static with DVB" where someone makes the claim that the
 Si 3112 SATA drivers can cause this type of problem. I still think it is a
 Red Herring, but I'm using this chipset. I'm going to try to revert to the
 non-SATA drivers for my chipset as a first step.

 Valgrind is reporting a memory problem with the write() on safe_write, but
 if that really was the problem I would expect my PVR-250 recordings to be
 messed up as well.
