Comment:

 I can confirm the bug and that TVRec is dispatching the ASK_RECORDING
 messages to the frontend.

 So this is a tv_play problem, and it may be related to #262 which also
 involves the frontend ignoring events.

 I'm accepting the ticket and will be looking at this tmrw.
