Log Message:
Redo some of the DB connection stuff in the TV/NVP classes.  Should fix the 
segfault rkulagow has been seeing occasionally.
Fix some assumptions in the backend that it'll have a scheduler object for
certain queries.
The cutpoint dialog in edit mode wasn't going away when it should have been.
More work on the OSD menu system.
